Plants of Cedar Creek

    The sole representative of the Amaryllis Family at Cedar Creek is Hypoxis hirsuta (Yellow Star Grass).  This attractive little plant is confined to a few wet meadow margins south of Fish Lake.  Cronquist includes this family with the Liliaceae (amaryllis' with inferior ovaries, lilies with superior ovaries, more or less).
