Perhaps eight species of Lauxaniids (135 NA spp)have been collected. Larvae
are reported to occur in decaying vegetation in moist places, and adults
are generally swept from woodland vegetation. Most common are the large
yellow
Camptoprosopella vulgaris?,
patterned winged species of
Homoneura,
and dark-bodied species of Minettia.
Lauxania
cylindricornis is shiny black with elongate antennae. Species
of Melanomyza,
Sapromyza?,
and
Poecilolycia have
also been collected.
