The Snipe Flies (104 NA spp) of Cedar Creek occur primarily in woodland. Three species have been collected, but others are likely to occur. The velvety gold-and-black Chrysopilus ornatus can be found on Krone's Knoll during June. Chrysopilus quadratus is also fairly common as is Rhagio mystaceus.
