The webs of the Eastern Tent Caterpillar, Malacosoma americana, commonly occur on Black Cherry (Prunus serotina)  in field and savanna situations.  Other species taken at Cedar Creek include the Forest Tent Caterpillar, Malacosoma disstria (Populus, Acer); Tolype velleda and Phyllodesma americana (foliage of various hardwoods) .
