A large family (1053 NA spp) of small colorful square-winged moths whose larvae are generally leaftiers or leafrollers on various trees and shrubs. As now defined this family includes the Olethreutinae. Several species collected at CCNHA, but many more likely to occur here.
Archips argyrospilus occurs on cherry, Archips sp on leadplant, Choristoneura rosaceana on rose, Choristoneura fumiferana (the Spruce Budworm) on spruce and fir, Clepsis persicana and Sparganothis reticulatana on various trees, Acleris subnivana on pin oak, ?? on rose, ?? on sumac. Numerous undetermined specimens collected.
