Most members of this family (175 NA spp) are casebearers that feed on fungi
or fabrics. The most notorious members of this family are the clothes and
carpet moths (Tineola bisselliella, Tinea pellionella, Trichophaga tapetzella).
Members of the genus Acrolophus (burrowing webworms) construct tubular
webs in the ground where they feed on the roots of grasses.
