Longhorned Casemaker Caddisfly larvae (108 NA spp; 49 MN spp) usually make cone-shaped cases of sand and are found in streams, rivers, ponds, and lakes. Adults have extremely long antennae. Minnesota genera--Ceraclea(17), Leptocerus(1), Mystacides(2), Nectopsyche(5), Oecetis(7), Setodes(2), Triaenodes(9), Ylodes(2); Neophylax(4).

Species collected at CCNHA include:  Ceraclea alagma, Leptocerus americanus, Nectopsyche albida, Oecetis 2+spp (cinerascens, inconspicua), and Triaenodes 2+spp (baris, injustus).  The latter two genera are infrequently collected in old field sweeps.  Many more species likely to occur in this Family at Cedar Creek.
