The Dryinids (139 NA spp) are parasites of leafhoppers and planthoppers.
Females of Neogonotopus
spp lack wings and have raptorial forelimbs with which they hold onto their
prey while ovipositing. Parasitized Homoptera (Bruchomorpha spp) are routinely
collected with the black pupal case of the Dryinid projecting from the
host's abdomen. The males are winged and don't at all resemble the females.
Perhaps six species of Neogonatopus have been collected.
Other less commonly collected genera are Bocchus,
Anteon,
Aphelopusand
BOX face.
