The Gasteruptiids (15 NA spp) are a distinctive family with their elongate abdomen. Most are predators or inquilines in the nests of twig-nesting bees and wasps. Perhaps five species in the genus Gasteruption have been collected. Adults are commonly found on the flowers of Water Hemlock (Cicuta maculata).
