The Torymids (175 NA spp) are small
(2-4 mm), have large hind coxae and are generally metallic green with an
elongate ovipositor. More than five undetermined species have been collected.
Some attack gall insects (Torymus) while others attack seeds
(Megastigmus), some are gall formers (Monodontomerus, Podagrion?),
and still others attack Hymenoptera, Diptera, Coleoptera, and Lepidoptera
larvae.
