The Conifer Sawflies (41 NA spp) have serrate (female) or bipectinate antennae
(male). The larvae and pupae of Diprion
simile, the Introduced Pine Sawfly, are abundant on young White
Pine that have invaded a few little bluestem fields. This species is parasitized
by the Ichneumonid, Exenterus amictorious. Monoctenus
sp (Juniper) has also been collected.
