Family SCOLYTIDAE
(Bark Beetles)
Little attention has been given to this family of wood borers (481 NA spp,
68 MN spp). Many species are of economic concern, attacking valuable timber.
Perhaps 8 species in the genera Hylurgops,
Dendroctonus,
Ips,
Polygraphus?,
Xyloterinus?, Trypodendron
and
Monarthrum
have been collected. A few Undet
specimens also in the collection.
