Family LYCTIDAE

(Powder-post Beetles)

Adults and larvae of this family (11 NA spp) are elongate, flattened, with 2-segment antennal club.  They feed on seasoned timber and are of some economic importance.  Species of Lyctus and Trogoxylon occur in Minnesota.  Not  collected at Cedar Creek.
