pests of insect collections. Species of
Dermestes
(3 spp-
caninus,
lardarius,
talpinus?)
are common in buildings, pitfalls, at carrion, etc.
Orphilus
ater is sometimes common on the flower heads of Water Hemlock
(
Cicuta). Other species collected include:
Cryptorhopalus
haemorrhoidalis, Attagenus piceus?, Anthrenus castanea? and
Trogoderma
versicolor.
