Insects of Cedar Creek

Order COLEOPTERA

Family DRYOPIDAE

(Long-toed Water Beetles)

These beetles (13 NA spp) resemble Elmids in having long tarsal claws.  Larvae and adults aquatic, but adults sometimes found on vegetation.  Helichus spp collected in Minnesota.  This Family not  collected at Cedar Creek.
