Rock Crawlers (10 NA spp) occur on rocks near glaciers in NW US and SW
Canada. These leathery elongate (10-30 mm) wingless creatures make
a living (if you can call it that) feeding on dead insects in high altitude
snowfields. Only a single family (Grylloblattidae) with ca 20 world
spp occurs in this order. None in Minnesota or at CCNHA.
