Pygmy Mole Crickets (2 NA spp, 2 MN spp) are small colorful fossorial crickets found near water.  The pygmy Mole Cricket, Tridactylus apicialis, has been collected from sand burrows along the shore of Fish Lake during periods of low water. This species is a scavenger and root feeder.
