The Woodland Walking Stick, Diapheromera
femorata, is a common inhabitant of the Oak Woods on CCNHA.
Nymphs feed on Pin Oak foliage and adults commonly clamber about the Lab
and Dormitory walls in the fall. Eggs are reported to require two
years to hatch. The prairie Walking Stick, Diapheromera veleii,
has not been collected here, but it does occur in Minnesota.
