Apocynaceae. Forb. Leaves opposite with a short petiole. Leaves are oval with a pointed tip and a broader or "truncated" base. Distinct fishhook venation. Some sparse hairs on leaf margin, midrib and stem. Red stems. Milky juice comes out when the stem is broken. Similar species: Euphorbia corollata but this species has alternate leaves. Leaves of Apocynum androsaemifolium> are thinner, more flimsy, less waxy and are more pointed at the tip. |
