Poaceae. Grass. Planted in E55 garden plots. Sheath and leaf blades sometimes glabrous (no hairs) but may also be hairy (similar to Buchloe dactyloides). Tuft of hair at ligule area. Leaves are smooth. Rachis does not surpass the uppermost spikelet of the seedhead. Found in E120, E123 and E141. See Bouteloua gracilis in the field
