Cenchrus longispinus

Poaceae. Grass. Ligule is a ring of short hairs. Generally short with broad leaves. Has a distinct white, pinched nodes. Sand burr seed heads. Similar species: Setaria glauca Setaria has flimsier, lighter green leaves; long, sparse hair on the leaves; and red nodes. The base of Cenchrus is somewhat flattened but fleshier than Setaria. Found in fields A, B, and E.
