Bromus inermis

Poaceae. Grass. No ligule. Tall, leafy grass.

The only grass with a sealed sheath. Usually

in the middle of the lead blade there is an

impression of the letter "V" or "M", vertical

on the leaf. Similar species: Agropyron.

Agropyron has no sealed sheath and no "V" on

leaf. It has auricles which Bromus does not have.

Bromus has a looser inflorescence which falls away

from the stalk. Found in fields A. Found in E 120

and E 141.
